May 2003

We visited Rome for a few days. This was the view from the top of our hotel.
We spent most of our time in Villa Borghese Park. It's a great park in the center of the city. It has a zoo, a duck pond and a great stream for making "drone boats".
Nolan and Betsy climbed on pretty much every rock in the Colosseum.
This is one of the many walking tunnels underneath Rome. This one actually cuts right underneath Villa Borghese Park.
The Spanish Steps
This is the Trevi Fountain. Our cool Italian friend, Nick Borea, lives in the building to the right.
This is the top of the Panthenon, the oldest intact building in Rome. It's over 2000 years old. To give you some perspective, Nolan is only 3.

The daily wrestling match
The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) came to Warsaw. 4 of the top 10 women in the world were entered, including Venus Williams. Liz used her connections to get us some great seats for the entire tournament. Amelie Mauresmo of France ended up beating Venus in the final 6-7 6-0 3-0 (Venus pulled out with an injury in the 3rd set).
